Obama Has No Time For God

During his campaign, Obama mentioned how he had attended Trinity Baptist Church for 2o years listening to the controversial sermons of Reverand Jeremiah Wright all that time.

In an interview with the magazine, Christianity Today, he stated:

I am a Christian, and I am a devout Christian. I believe in the redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I believe that that faith gives me a path to be cleansed of sin and have eternal life. But most importantly, I believe in the example that Jesus set by feeding the hungry and healing the sick and always prioritizing the least of these over the powerful. I didn’t ‘fall out in church’ as they say, but there was a very strong awakening in me of the importance of these issues in my life. I didn’t want to walk alone on this journey. Accepting Jesus Christ in my life has been a powerful guide for my conduct and my values and my ideals

Here he professed a faith in Jesus Christ but at the same time stated that his faith was a “path” to be cleansed of sin. Sorry, Obama, it’s no path of redemption, it’s a gift to be “taken.” That right there makes me wonder if his faith is nothing but “just words.”

Then he went into the tirade about Jesus feeding the poor, taking on the mantra of his socialist ideology where he equates Jesus feeding the poor to the demand that the government do the same. This was his “awakening” that was MORE IMPORTANT. He totally missed the tree for the forest. That wasn’t the most important message. But it sure fuels a socialist agenda, now doesn’t it?

But I digress. Obama likes to “talk” religion when he can. He even “speaks the language” [roughly] but when it actually goes to putting his words into action, he’s AWOL.

It took him over 6 months after entering the White House to find a ‘home church”, which he’s only attended on occasion. He uses the excuse of him being a distraction at church. How bogus! Past presidents have attended church. Sure there’s acknowledgment of the president, but people are there for one purpose and it’s NOT to get a glimpse of the POTUS.

So what did he do for Easter? He used the same flimsy excuse. Didn’t want to draw attention to himself. So he did what? Oh yeah, he held an “impromptu” service  at a pool in the Virgin Islands

And this year for Christmas? Where’s Obama attending church?  Nowhere, nada, bupkus!

Anyone getting the idea that religion was the tool he used to step up politically? No thinking needed. It was right in “Dreams from My Father.”

Rev. Alvin Love, head of the Lilydale First Baptist Church on 113th Street, told me. “Barack came to me and wanted to try to connect with the whole community.”

Trying to construct a wide-ranging alliance of churches, Obama succeeded with Love and a few other ministers, but he was hampered by the fact that he didn’t go to church himself. “I said, ‘If you go to a pastor, and you ask him to come get involved in a community effort, and you say you have a group of churches, and that pastor asks you what church you belong to, and you say none — then it’s hard to get that pastor on board,’” Love recalled telling Obama. “He said, ‘I know, I understand, I’m working on it.’ He said, ‘I believe, I’m just waiting for the right spot, the right place, the right time.’” Love wasn’t the only minister to bring that up with Obama, and before long Obama, drawn to the preaching of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, joined Trinity United Church of Christ on 95th Street

I have a Bible verse for Barack Obama, and he needs to carefully heed the warning.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap GALATIONS 6:7
